When did Tonde Buurin get so popular? last modified: Wednesday, February 21, 2007 (12:42:01 PM) Vapalla, Sensei.. everyone suddenly seems to be snapping up Tonde Buurin cels.
Am I missing something?
Vapalla''s been collecting them for a while . . . and she got Sensei addicted. I think they often split lots of the cels. Just a cheap, cute show to collect from. I''m not sure how many people have actually seen it, though.
I''ve seen Tonde Buurin. It''s a pretty funny and cute show, although it''s been -years- since I''ve seen it. For myself, I might decide to snap a couple up just to have super pig-chan but don''t really intend to specialize in it. But it''s been televised in several countries I think, and from where I came from it''s a "known" show but not as big as lets say akazukin chacha or super doll licca-chan.
Yeah, they just split a big lot they won. No biggie. ^_^ And since they like to display the cels in their galleries, well... no, you''re not missing anything. ~_^ *HUG*
Vapalla and I just like cheap cels with a lot of visual pizzazz, and for 3100 yen (plus $70.70 shipping) we got about 3 inches of TB stuff. The show may not be as meaty as other comic series, but the animators obviously had a lot of fun, and it shows in the art. I''ll be updating TB stuff for probably a month or more as I work through my half. But since it''s Lent I won''t be buying again until April.
I''ve been collecting the piggies since 2003, but when Sensei asked me if I wanted to bid on cels using his SMJ account (we split fees and save a little $$) he kinda got into Buurin too. It is an earlier work by the same character designer as Tenshi ni Narumon. SInce I own lots of stuff from the series already, We are not usually looking for the same stuff. Thusly, when big lots happen to turn up (which one did, a whopping 3"high stack of stuff) it made sense to jointly buy and then split it. I STILL don''t have it all added in the gallery. TB cels are really nice, and the drawings are fun too! (as you know Zag as you have some!) Leah wrote: "no, you''re not missing anything. ~_^ " Them''s fightin'' words missy!
