June 30, 2008 Popularity last modified: Monday, June 30, 2008 (5:08:28 PM) In the last 6 months, the Naked Beach Frenzy Group shot has quadrupled its hits. It now has more than three times the hits of the next most viewed page, and more than five times the hits of anything else in my gallery. It's the top result on Google images relating to the episode, so that might explain the 1600 hits in half a year thing.

I had a similar thing happen in my gallery. A nice but not terribly impressive sketch of a minor villain in the Inuyasha TV series suddenly popped up in the top 50 and climbed steadily up the list, finally emerging as my #1 visited item sometime this summer. I assume that because it''s an OK (if not very sexy) image of this minor villain, there''s an Inuyasha site somewhere that has a link to it. The item that it topped (and now is #2) is also a not-terribly-good cel that another collector happens to covet and had a link to up on his own site in a list of items that people had "refused" to let him have. I''d never want to associate hit numbers with quality, or, now, even with popularity. |
