Watchy but no Biddy

I think this is the new trend in cel buying on ebay. You put up a bunch of cels, that get zero bids until 2 seconds before the auction ends...if at all. And yet throughout the auctions, you see the numbers of watchers keep growing and growing. Come on people...don't just watch...bid!!! Starving cel collector here needs some money! Or, more accurately, visa wants some money! :)

So if you couldn't guess, I currently have 19 items up for bid on ebay. All extremely nice and rare cels and genga that I am being forced to sacrifice for various reasons. And yet, so far, only 1 thing is actually selling-and out of the beautiful asuka cel, or the rare death of bardock, or even one of my last remaining mirai trunks...what is selling? A freaking genga set of Goku! I think I will never understand...

New trend? I thought it was the old trend! I know what you mean, though... I once put up a cel that acquired as many as 13 watchers and two inquiries, and it ended with 0 bids. Another item jumped from ~10 USD to over 30 in the last minute.

However, even though I sometimes wish for ebay to add auto-extentions--both as a seller and a crappy sniper--people would still bid in the last ten minutes. I do it myself, far too often (it comes back to bite me, occasionally--misjudged time, bad connections, etc.). I understand it from a bidder''s perspective, but it''s still frustrating when you''re on the seller''s side.

Good luck with your sales.

You know what the worst is? I''ve still got someone watching a cel set I put up over a month ago. I think the bidder was watching just to make sure it didn''t sell, then hoping I''d relist with a lower price . . . or a $0.99 starting bid. *sigh*

Yep.. I''ve basically got the same problem but not with cel auctions... with computer parts auctions. And the saddest part about that is, I''ve priced them way lower than they can be bought *anywhere* else. I just don''t get it. So, believe me, I feel your frustration.
