Didn't blow up any cels...

I don't think I'll ever get how cels are priced. I'm seeing American cels go for much cheaper (at least the ones I've looked at) than many anime cels, and are a lot rarer (example: A Muppet Babies cel is $10, while you could get a similar Hime-chan no Ribbon cel for $80). Is it because anime cels are more popular? That doesn't really make sense. Perhaps I may never know.

I worry about my cels lately. I don't know the best way to take care of them, and don't want to ruin the wonderful things, like I'm the caretaker or something. For now they're in a cel PROfolio stored on a shelf in my dad's office. I found he had moved it a few days ago, ON IT'S SIDE! The cels were falling out when I picked it up! So I'm upset about that, but I don't know where else to stick them right now. They don't warp, do they?

Anyway, I didn't do anything for the 4th - well, that you're supposed to do, anyway. No fireworks, no "celebrating your country by blowing up a part of it" or anything ;) Just kinda sat around. Boring, right? At least I go to New York in less than 2 weeks. I'll be anxious to check out Chinatown. I wonder if they have a Morning Glory.

cel prices: it''s just what the market will bear. If someone will pay $1,000 for a cel, then that''s likely close to what the seller will get. If they can''t get anyone to buy it at $10, well then it goes cheaper... (or gets blown up in a fireworks celebration?) ^_^

Yes, cels warp. You can put them in a dark corner of a closet too, if they won''t get disturbed.

Well, I worked on the fourth, but got out just in time to gather up my camera and head on down to the beach for pictures! I miss being able to blow up a little something once a year. ~_^

Cel prices are a funny thing. My experience, though, has been that anime cels that I''m interested in are much cheaper than American animation cels that I''m interested in are.

Case in point. I''ve been on the lookout recently for artwork from a show coughclonewarscough, and due to what I''m used to paying for anime cels I was quite shocked at the $200+ price tags for a sketch.

I did find something that I really liked, though, at a much cheaper price. Not production, but art none the less. And I liked it better than the sketches anyway ^_^
