Almost two months now.. last modified: Saturday, March 11, 2006 (5:24:44 PM) I've been looking for a job for almost two months now. I have been flat broke for that period as well. My Visa bill is about $1,100, I owe my grandmothers $250 in bills, and my last $5 went to getting milk and such.
I'm scared. If by the end of the month I'm still without any source of income, I'll have to sell the higher valued cels in my collection. That really.. really depresses me. I have applied to more than ten different job openings, and every time I hear nothing, or someone else gets hired and they don't tell me otherwise. I'm at the point where I sleep most of the day away because if I stay awake I'll stew about my misfortune and get really depressed. I feel like crying.
I was in your very shoes about a year ago... No job, and everyone wants more experience, or never hear anything back... I had no money, no job, rent, electric... you know all those bills to pay... I actually finally went to a temp service and got -something- to be able to pay my bills and such with. Have you tried a Temporary Agency? It may not be -great- pay, but at least you will have some income coming in and you can save your nicer cels? I''m really sorry to hear about your situation, and i hope things will work out for you. have you tried your university''s career center? i know that my college and most colleges do help graduate alumni to find jobs as they would normal college students :) You could also utuilize your state''s gov employment placement services too. have you displayed your resume on the internet?? i do feel for you--I only have one internship and I am going to graduate next year. I have almost double of what you have on your Visa card [darn books!!!! >:( ] and I dont even want to think about my student loans! I am terribly sorry that you are in this situation and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! :) I hope you do get the job that you are looking for!
Hey babe, that''s sad news! But I''m sure things will change for you VERY soon. As HotIce suggest, a Temp agency can get you some work to pay the bills and if you''re used to sleeping during the day, a night shift would be perfect because it pays more too! Keep on sending the CVs, contacting companies by phone is often good because employer''s will often remember the people who talk to them directly rather than voiceless people who apply by post/email. Don''t let this setback give your confidence a knock, you just need to et yourself out there a little more, push a little harder and it will go your way ;) |
