Christmas sour gift last modified: Tuesday, December 25, 2007 (5:19:48 PM) 25th of December, Christmas 2007 and there I was bidding on an auction at YJ. And you ask, why was I bidding on something, during Christmas ?! Well, it was not my fault. The seller decided to end the auction today. If I was interested in it, which I was, my only chance to get it, would be to bid on it, even if it meant to lose a few hours during Christmas. So there I was, bidding on some nice Mezzo Forte storyboards, from the first OVA. It was being tough, since I was on a tight budget, due to an expensive purchase I made this month, but I was being able to outbid everyone else. 5 minutes left to the auction's end and I was refreshing the page like a maniac. I had reached my limit, but everything seemed to be going well, since I was still the highest bidder. But the last refresh brought a very unpleasant surprise, called Ziggystardust. When I saw that username, I literally got up and left the room I was in. I had reached my limit and couldn't do anything about it, was it Ziggy or anyone else, but remembering all the stories about Ziggy, I knew I didn't stand a chance, even if I did raise my limit a little bit. And so I was outbid and lost the auction. I was so frustrated. I knew this was going to happen some day, but I always thought it would be with some extremely rare cels. I had already lost an auction this week and really, really wanted to get these storyboards, but Ziggy decided that they would have a new home and it wouldn't be mine...:(
Anyway, enough of my rumblings. A Merry Christmas to you all!
Sorry to hear about your situation the same unpleasant thing happened to me as well. Some nameless users on YJP and the deputy services just get into bidding wars. Once I see these users appear the game is over and the same can be said about certain RS users here too who really nail others with their constant bidding and over purchasing, boarding on hoarding. Hang in there friend, someday you will find a treasure to add to your collection and hopefully someday these other "collectors" will quit, experience financial hardships and sell. Happy holidays.
That''s a bummer. But Christmas over in Japan is not big the way it is the West, so I imagine most seller''s wouldn''t bat an eye about something ending Dec. 25th. Also, many Japanese companies offer Winter Bonuses, so there''s losta extra cash able to be spent on hobbies around this time of year (which is why Mandy is holding another BWA next week). Better luck next time! You never know what will happen. If you need an uplifting rebound story, e-mail me and I''ll tell you about some original storyboards I won. :)
Rough luck Silus - that really bites. I was watching those storyboards also. As soon as I saw Ziggy''s name I closed my browser. I feel your pain though. I lost an awesome ultimate wishlist Mezzo hentai cel just the other day. Got sniped by a guy using the same deputy :( Chin up. As others have said - something even better could be just around the corner! :)
Ziggy strikes again! He had been out of the picture for some time, probably because he bought everything he wanted- until these storyboards showed up! It''s a shame you missed out on them, mate, but I''m sure similar will come around again (I''ve known it to happen). I didn''t see these items so I hope they were merely copies... Perhaps you''ll get the next item with less competition, it''s all ''swings & roundabouts'' in this hobby. Take care and Merry Christmas to you!
