No Kite Liberator this year

Damn it! I was so eager to see Kite Liberator and everything pointed to a 2007 release, but it seems that it will only be released around January 2008.
The available teaser, is really just that, a teaser. It doesn't really show much and just left me with a "I WANT MORE" feeling.
Even though I'm sure Kite Liberator follows a very similar tone, to the one we saw in the original A Kite, I hope it goes beyond that. In my opinion, A Kite was a masterpiece, but sequels tend to be inferior. Hopefully this is not the case. As far as I could see in that teaser, the character designs and animation, are as good as ever, but everything else is still a blur. With Kiss and Cry stalled, Kite Liberator is the only recent project from Mr Umetsu that I'm waiting for and I really can't wait :)

The official site mentions that it has finished production and is being released on Dec 21 this year (according to the translator I used) :)

Really ? Maybe what I read was just a rumor then. Either that or the official website was not updated with these unfortunate news :)

It was reported on the main site in November that the release would be delayed, but that was then updated to the Dec 21 release date - which is the Nov 23 article on the Japanese site. (again, going by the translator I used. I can''t read Japanese so I could be misunderstanding something)

You might like to know that the US site is now up www.kiteliberator.com and it has the new trailer! more footage and dialogue. Also has a brief story. :)
