Turnaround

I'm a quiet member of this community but it doesn't mean that I'm not watching. There's a lot of things that annoy me about the cel collecting community, and some things I like.

And then there's the ones that are just -perplexing-.

I know everyone has their own personal situations, but I don't understand it when collectors buy a "wishlist" cel, pimp it all over the place, and then turn around and sell it months, weeks later.

Why even bother?

If you think this is about you or one of your friends, sorry. *shrugs* I've seen this happen many times.

Well personal situations arise in the persons life that may cause them to have to sell things they love.

I know it just happened in my case.

It''s one thing if someone has a personal situation. *A* personal situation. When it happens multiply times . . . yeah. I''m a starving college student. I understand lack of money. But you still shouldn''t be spending what you don''t have. Emergencies happen--but if they happen too often, it''s time to reevaluate your life and spending habits.

I''ve personally never sold a true wishlist. I once sold a MMB cel of Miwa and Meiko, but it wasn''t a very nice cel of them, and I always thought of it as a kind of "place holder" until I got the perfect shot. ^_^ The majority of the cels I''ve sold were freebies or extras.

There are situations where that happens I''m sure, but it would have to be a pretty bad situation (or of course a finding of an item of more interest XD) before I''d sell any of my favorites. Of course it doesn''t bother me much when others turn around and sell items, I generally benefit from that ^_~!

Hmmm... I know I don''t give much chances to others (aka stepping back) as I''m very selfish when it comes to wishlist items. Plus the problem sometimes is that if I do hold back for someone and they fail to purchase it or wasn''t as keen on getting it, or turns around a few weeks later to sell it (family emergencies excluded), I think those things will make me feel kind of foolish for stepping back so I just don''t offer to give way. That said, when I do go after a wishlist and know someone else wanted it and fights me for it or steps back so I can get it, I will try my best to win it (within reason) and certainly it will stay for a long time in my gallery regardless of another wishlist coming along. But see that''s easy for me because I now know it''s hard to part with my cels, especially my wishlist cels which is mostly wolfie-kun. Yar!!!
