Buyers remorse... last modified: Saturday, February 18, 2006 (4:42:12 PM) Did you ever have buyers remorse (for cels especially) and then decide later that maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Well, I bought a cel a while ago and it was really expensive but I really liked the scene and stuff. So I bought it anyways saying I might not be able to find another one. Eventually I found another shot of the same character for a way cheaper price and had immediate buyers remorse.
Well, today I was staring at the cel and the details and the quality, and I decided that maybe orginally I had thought about regretting buying the cel, but in the end, I'm still happy i did. Even if the cel costs two fold than the second one, the first one is of much higher quality. So in the end, I was happy to say that, quality is more important than the price of any of my cels. -_- and this particular cel is one I will never sell. so yay for epiphanies ~Katie
Yup - I get that alot, especially when my little conscious pips up and reminds me how much I paid for some of the cels I own. It''s also the same nagging voice that reminds me that I should probably thin my collection. For me, it''s probably theses pieces that I admire the most. They''re generally ubber nice pieces that I might have paid way too much for...but then of course, I realize that even if I were to find another cel from this sequence again, would the owner be willing to sell it..especially for what I paid for it? It''s important to keep it all in perspective when you think you''ve just blown your wad.
Yup, I have done that too. In fact my chibi Inuyasha was like that. I was new to a dep service and my e-mail got mixed up in the translation and she went ahead and bought it for me. I was not sure I wanted to spend that much. But now I wouldn''t sell even though I have had offers on it for the price I paid.
Can you say hanken? I bet you caaaan! Oh my goodness, yes! I keep thinking I just spent more on those hanken than my entire gallery combined in its first year!!!! O.o I know it will be gorgeous when it comes in, but man... in the meantime, I''m kind of kicking myself for having spent so much. >< I''ve never spent that much on myself ever before. *wiggles uncomfortably in my chair* |
