The Atlantis Resort - Paradise Island, Bahamas - Review
last modified: Thursday, January 12, 2006 (1:18:53 AM)
I can not begin to explain my happiness with my recent vacation to the bahamas. I would consider the Atlantis Resort and Casino a Godsend. While the Casino is not the best (does not host poker year round because it is illegal in the bahamas) - it does have the rest of your typical games - slots, craps, carribean stud, blackjack, roulette, etc.

The Meal Plan
For the cheapest meal plan that Atlantis offers, it cost $67 per day which includes breakfast at a choice of four restaurants: Water's Edge, Seagate, Marketplace, and Murray's Delicatessen, Lunch at a choice of five restaurants: The Dive In, Sharkbites express, Platos, Cave Grill, Voyagers, and Dinner at a choice of 8: The Clubhouse, Bimini Road, Water's Edge, Seagate, Atlas bar and Grill, Murray's Delicatessen, The point at Harborside, and Marketplace. Normally I would be very upset at $67 a day, but apparently it is a bargain. When we went to dinner on these meal plans for breakfast we averaged $15-25 for lunch $15 and for dinner $65-90 dinner alone was worth it.

The Resort
I honestly can not sasy whether or not I actually saw the whole resort. The place had at least 4 water slides that I saw of, a lazy river, and more than 3 pools or 2 beaches. Where exactly I went everyday was a mystery to me. They had innertubes, jet skis, paddle boats, snorkling, and if you really wanted to swim you could.

The Drinks
As much as I loved the Resort, I hated buying drinks. If you ever go, I recommend bringing your own. A Coke was the cheapest at 3.75 and a mixed drink could cost you anywhere between $8.05 and $31. We ended up buying a bottle at a duty free shop downtown and just lounging with a bunch of friends.

Why was I there?
I went for the Poker Stars Carribean Adventure, this year just to watch, but watching made me want to tune my skills some more. This year, the winner won 1.3 million. That's quite a bit of change if you ask me. I made some new friends and overall it was a very +EV trip.

Oh vacation - how much I look forward to going on one! It sounds like you had a great time in the sun and surf. I''m counting down the days until my three weeks in Hawaii (10 more days - I can last that long, right?)

Wow. I''d love to go to the Bahamas. *_*
Of course, it''s beautiful here too, but I''m always too busy working to really get to enjoy it. >< If work can''t reach you by phone, they know where you live, and where you hang out at, so they can always find you. rar.
