places in japanese dramas last modified: Saturday, November 12, 2005 (6:27:58 AM) So, in episode 4 of the live action adaptation of Hana Yori Dango, Tsukasa and Tsukushi have an extended argument in the rain in front of a big mansion-looking restaurant in Tokyo. For those of you unfamiliar with the basic plot of HYD, Tsukasa one of four rich high school kids and Makino is a poor common girl at their private high school.
The background area in the shots seemed very familiar. I realized that I actually ATE at this French restaurant when I visited in 2003. It was DIRTY EXPENSIVE. I don't remember a whole lot about the food, but I do remember that there were lots of greasy old men with stunningly attractive female dates my age. Golddigger central. I had a picture taken from nearly the same spot they plopped their cameras down. Welp, that's my weird observation of the day.
Live action HYD, now that''s just weird. I can''t imagine. XD I think I''m just not a live action adaption person. *shrug* ''Cause I don''t think I''d really enjoy the Bleach musical either. O_o
I''m actually finding in general that live action dramas that have some rough basis in the manga/anime world are becoming progressively more interesting enjoyable as time goes on while anime is proceeding the opposite direction. Even then, the anime/manga connection seems to be more of a hinderance to live action dramas. The most enjoyable of the live action shows I''ve seen were either based on books or original works. *shrug*
