So I got the bug. Just call me a Narutard. XD I just finished the first set of manga volumes 1-27. I spotted volumes 1-20 at half priced books for like 30 dollars so I couldn't pass up the deal. >.<" CURSE YOU HALF PRICED BOOKS!!!! Then I was addicted and had to buy the last 7! (Off ebay cause I was still in denial of being a fan and refused to buy full price.) So now it looks like I have to buy the REST of the series and catch up with everyone. GAH! So I'm probably going to have to cut back on cels and buy more manga instead.

After reading the manga what I want to know is it worth viewing the anime? Because I heard some bad things about like 100 episodes of fillers.

The anime is really good in the beginning but when the filler starts it never really gets back its greatness. I''d watch it from the beginning until the end of the regular Naruto, minus any of the filler episodes. Just skip Shippuuden entirely.

I, too, share your same affliction.

As for the anime, around episode 120, Naruto goes filler until shippuuden. The only filler episode I recommend is the one where Rock Lee''s "medicine" makes him a shuriken master. Other than that, they''re all blah. I personally like Shippuuden. I like the older Naruto and Sakura. There are some fillers, but at least they keep on with the main plot.

Thanks a bunch guys. ^^ So I should try at least up to 120 then? I think I shall try it then. But this is the first time I heard Shippuuden was bad. I''ll tread with caution I suppose.

Sometimes it can be like DBZ (ya know....A battle lasts like 10 eps) but hey, the anime is nice, just skip the fillers, and watch them when you are just bored, since the fillers eventually get on your nerves.

You gotta watch Naruto through episode 135. Otherwise you miss the Naruto/Sasuke arc. After 135 you hit filler until Shippuuden. Some of the fillers I didn''t mind since I learned more about side characters. I love Shippuuden. LOVE IT! Again, fillers aside. The manga on the other hand for Shippuuden is just amazing. The anime is great when it''s on track with the manga and I''ve found that in shippuuden there are a lot of characters that I rather enjoy now and yet couldn''t stand them in the original series. Now they''re fun to watch. I would totally recommend Shippuuden. It takes awhile to get started because it has to catch you up on things, but once it gets going it truly is great.

Definitely read the Shippuuden Manga because it''s fun, but I just found the artwork really to be lacking, and the pacing atrociously slow. But if you enjoy it you enjoy it. ^^

Now here''s the opinion from someone who hasn''t read the mangas. Watch the original series until ep. 136. That''s when the really boring episodes happen. Then pick the anime back up around ep. 210 and watch thru the end ep. 220. Shippuuden starts then with ep. 1.

I love Shippuuden! I didn''t think it started slow at all. I enjoyed the taste of ep. 1 and then flashback to a few weeks or months earlier. The anticipation of how they got to the point in ep. 1 was so enjoyable. Every episode since has been great too minus the Sora story. I hated that.

Welcome to the world of Naruto! ^.^ Just call me a Sasuke fangirl. ^.~
