I Got Him!! last modified: Tuesday, October 04, 2005 (11:33:26 AM) I haven't been bidding on auctions lately, and I didn't buy anything from AnimeMuseum's sale, all because I had two auctions that I just *had* to have. One was a cel on Ebay I mention a few blogs back, and I won him this morning!!!! I'm sooo happy right now. Tired, but happy. ^_^
The other was on Mandarake. Actually, there were a few that I would have liked, but one that I was determined to get. With shipping, and at the current exchange rate, it's going to come out to a little over $98. I saw it's sequence mate go on YJ for close to $200, so I think I got a good deal. ^_^ Hopefully, the rate won't tank in the month that it takes Mandarake to run my debit card through. They say they can't take debit cards, but if it has a Visa logo, it works. It just takes about a month to go through, so I'm going to have to make sure that the money's there in a month's time, which means no major spending. Sorry for being so cryptic, but I want them to be a surprise. I'm evil, aren't I? There's just one more cel out there that I want right now, and after that, I really need to go on a diet. I've spent way too much over the summer. But these two latest have made me really happy, so I can't complain.
Yeah, debit cards with the Visa logo can be used like a credit card. I have one and use it with my Mandarake account as well. They authorize the charge immediately but it goes back into your account and, like you said, it takes roughly one month to clear. I don''t think the rate is based on when it clears, it''s based on when you buy the item (in other words, the rate they authorize on your card right after you complete payment for the auction, which is roughly 2 weeks after the auction ends). So, all in all, it takes roughly 6 weeks for payment to be removed from your account. Hope that made sense O_O
I need to go on a major diet too!! >_< I''ve been to AM''s sale, bought from Anime World Star and I bought some X cels off eBay! Why do I always do it! :P Glad you got the cels you wanted though! The debit card thingy sounds like a pain...but least the cels yours! ^__^

In a white button-down with tie, and with sunglasses and jacket in hand! *drool fest* Yeah, I''m just going to stroll casually back over to the auction and sit and stare a little more...

Sounds like some AWESOME deals to me! I''m glad that things worked out well for you! Of course I''ve been whining about having to go on a cel diet for a couple of months soon so I KNOW how it feels to be forced to do it!
