Anime Boston '08
last modified: Friday, January 25, 2008 (10:42:44 AM)
Anime Boston is coming up March 21-23. It is supposed to be the largest anime convention in the Northeast. This will be my very first anime convention! I am very excited. I'm sure most everyone here has been to a convention before, so I am wondering what to expect. The website gives a lot of info. I wonder where to start, things to make sure I see or do there...Stuff like that. And has anyone been to Anime Boston before? I'd love to know what to expect.

Make sure to get to the dealer''s room early.
The collectors usually make way w/ the good stuff by noon :P

I''ve heard tell that AB is quite fun for a smaller convention. And for your first time, you might want to stick with small. My first convention was Otakon in 2002...that was something. Being in a convention center with tens of thousands of other anime fans...O_o!

Have fun!

Ohh, DEFINITELY go meet Greg & Monica. XD They''re so adorable, and SO nice! ^^

(Sadly, I''ve never been to AB before, but I''ve done several other cons along the East Coast)

Expect smelly and hyper fanboys like Shampoo said! o_O Bring a gas mask or potpourri spray when slinking through the dealers room.

-Sometimes dealers or distributors will hand out freebies like posters and other such propaganda.
-Definitely take some time to visit the art exhibits if they have it. There are some interesting stuff in there.
-Anime viewing rooms, gaming rooms are fun.
-Loads of cosplayers will be roaming around, make sure to keep the camera on hand!
-Wonder if they will have the anime music video contest? Those were always super fun!

It''s been about 10 years since my last con experience so I''m not sure what else to tell you. Overall I bet you will have tons of fun!! ^_~
