Call me a little sick and twisted but it sounds like those guys got what they had coming to them. Driving up in their BMW acting like pricks and thinking they can just go around fucking with animals that are caged. Yeah sure, so the cage wall was too low. So that is the zoo's fault. Kids and people visited the damn tiger ALL the time. The zoo KNOWS this. Thus why they KNOW that those prissy little fuckers did something to provoke that animal! I am sure they acted like that in other areas of their life. Someone was going to teach them a lesson eventually. It just so happened to cost someone's life and happen to be a big ass tiger that finally got its freedom from that hell hole.

Sorry, I do not like zoos at ALL. Those animal's shouldn't be caged up like that. I understand if you are trying to save a species and thus trying to get those animals to reproduce? But to just stick random animals and cages and have people stare at them all day and fuck around with them? Not acceptable!

LOL and to add a random "Oh my god she didn't just say that" note to this blog. Those kids drew first blood. LOL
(They teased the shit out of them which counts lol)

I agree that those boys got what was coming to them. You cannot tease a predator without expecting some kind of consequence. It would be like pissing off someone carrying a large gun, and then running home crying when someone gets shot.

Animals are put in zoos on display for people to pay and see, because the zoos need this money in order to do things like help endangered species reproduce. Without funding, these animals would just die off. There are very few people/institutions wealthy enough to do this just out of the goodness of their hearts.

When the story first came out and the boys refused to give their names, my coworkers and I thought that they must be illegal. But when it came out that both boys had a criminal history(as well as one of them had a slingshot in his pants when he was taken to the hospital), it all made perfect sense.

I think that most people in the Bay Area agree that the boys provoked the tiger. Despite the fact that the tiger was out of the cage for several minutes without targetting anyone else but these two makes me think that the boys did something to enrage the animal.

I like zoos because I know that, where many of these animals come from, they are constantly threatened. Take tigers in China, for example. What''s more sinister - Putting a tiger in an enclosed environment that is generally designed to mimic their natural habit or hunting a tiger simply because his body parts make for great ''medicine''? There are several stores that sell these body parts in Chinatown and they''re all availble for a price.
