Groove

You know what really grinds my gears? Sorry Family Guy on the mind. Being in a groove and having it interrupted. I am in the process of redesigning our company magazine and having the first issue done this week. I swear, every time I get into a good working groove, something just HAS to come up. The groove is broken and I can't seem to put it back together for at least a half hour. Broken, shattered, destroyed.

Granted, it does give me time to go on a cel hunt and stare at the auctions I am debating on bidding. And give me time to write a blog. But still....I want my groove back. Sigh.

On a side note, I am totally updating this weekend. I figured if I put it in writing on my blog, I might actually feel committed to doing it. We will see.

Happy Thanksgiving!

LOL! Sista I know exactly what your talking about and I couldn''t agree more.

I''ve often come home complaining about my "groove" @ work being interrupted by some moron who decides they feel a need to knock at my door just to ask for directions to someone else''s cube (unfortunately I sit next to a busy intersection/hallway >_<) or to come to some office party, or wants to look at the progress on a piece even though I mentioned I''d email it to them as soon as I was d-o-n-e.
*sigh*
ok now I''m ranting LOL!

But yea... I hear ya!
It always takes me about an hr or so just to get back into it, and it never seems as natural as it was before it was destroyed.
They just recently tore down our walls so instead of offices we have cubicles so now it feels your in a fishbowl and distractions are a dime a dozen. I just cant see how corporate expects creatives to work in an environment like that.
I can certainly see why folks drop like flies from the corporate scene and go on to freelance.

Here''s wishing you a interruption-free period to finish your magazine update!
I dunno if you have a door or not, but maybe even putting a "do not disturb." sign or maybe a "quiet. meeting in progress" might help keep people from barging in.

Good luck! ^_^
