Farewell Croc Hunter

I dont know if you have all heard or not. But Steve Irwin is dead...

I had no idea until my sister walked up to me and told me. I thought she was joking and she pointed out on the newspaper...

That is the saddest thing i ever heard. And now animal planets got this thing playing with him.

I too, thought it was a joke when I was browsing Anime-Beta late that night (it was night-time for us but Australia it was around 2 PM or so). When I read the article I couldn''t believe my eyes. Humankind has lost a great individual that helped us better understand our habitat with wildlife and giving us a better understanding of the creatures that were most misunderstood. I pray for his family in that they make it through this...he was definitely one of a kind. A great icon, I will surely miss his adventures and watching his stunts. As WelcomeConsumer had mentioned on Anime-beta, at least he died doing what he loved doing, and not at something trivial like overdosing. RIP Irwin.

Am I the only one who thought he had it coming? When you''re constantly messing around with wild animals you are just asking to get hurt.

I cried a few times when I heard the news the previous night. All day yesterday I was so sad and depressed. Even though he''s just some guy on TV who helps run the Queensland Zoo in Australia it almost felt like I was losing a close friend. I pray for his sweet wife and children.

Just because it isn''t all that surprising that he was killed by a wild animal doesn''t mean that it sucks any less.

I really thought he would die from something totally unrelated though, like falling out of a tree. I loved watching his show, especially the bloopers. He did so many good things for animals and for the environment. I for one, will greatly miss him.
