Think I'm Gonna Give Up last modified: Monday, April 14, 2008 (3:46:03 PM) Much as I hate to do it, I think I'm going to give up collecting for the most part. I've had one too many bad experiences with other collectors lately and I've just had it.
I do think I'm going to keep collecting for a couple of series and keep looking for my wishlist items but that's about it. I think I'm getting rid of everything else because it's almost impossible to maintain anymore. I do want to say thanks to Linds, Kira, Tex and a whole host of others who have been so great to me in the past year or so. I sincerely appreciate it. (and no, Linds, this does not mean you get my Hakkai sketches. Hehehe.) Later.
I''m really sorry to hear you''re thinking of quitting. (Or maybe it''s more accurate to say you''ve already decided?) Either way, it''s sad to see anyone leave a hobby they love, particularly because they felt rather forced out due to bad experiences. At least you feel like you''ll continue to collect a couple of shows and look for wishlist items, so you won''t leave totally. I''m glad of that, but I wish you felt able to continue to get enjoyment out of the hobby. With that said, I also understand how you feel. I''ve had some bad experiences, as well -- probably everyone has. Most of mine happened right in the same span of time over the last year, which is why I''ve pretty much dropped out of the cel "community" scene. It just got to the point where it was too hard and too hurtful. I hope you''ll stay around RS a bit, at least. I always love visiting your gallery, and I wish you tons of luck in the shows you decide to continue with ... as well as in finding your wishlist items. Darnit! You''re so greedy.... (kidding XD) Hate to hear that you''re not going to be collecting anymore though. :( I guess we''ve all gotta quit sometime though, now that I think about it... I agree with Tex-chan though, I hope you''ll hang around for those occasional really good ones, and grab another here-and-there to add to your collection nonetheless. :) ...and definitely keep in touch, ''kay? ;) *hugs!* |
