More on the Situation

Thanks to everyone who replied and gave advice by the way. I sincerely appreciate it. I had no intention of sending them the sketch in the first place but it's always good to know that peers believe the same thing.
After posting the first little blurb on this whole mess, I get yet another email from this person asking if I am going to ignore the issue and again accusing me of fradulant practices. They stated that they either wanted the sketch or that they would send me back the cel and demand their money back. There is nothing wrong with the cel, I have pictures and scans of it, it was fine and there was no complaint for the past two months. I informed them that since the communication and payment was for the cel alone that I would not be sending them the sketch nor would I accept a return of the cel since there was nothing wrong with it and the terms of the transaction had been met. They filed a dispute with paypal and fortunately it's been more than the 45 day grace period so it was dropped. I've also contacted ebay about this person harassing me there since the initial transaction was not made on ebay it shouldn't have been brought there in the first place. The sad thing is, if they'd just said "Hey, I'd like to have that to go with the cel" I would have had no problems sending it to them. This whole mess makes me want to sell off everything and quit all together.

What a horrible situation. I hope this person stops harrassing you. The buyer accepted the terms of the sale when they purchased the item, so they need to back off. (And it sounds like they also need to grow up!) Don''t get discouraged though. I think most people in this hobby are honest! ^_^

A lot of times, people assume that a sketch is included. That''s why it''s best to state in your auction that the cel does *not* come with a sketch, or if it does, the condition of the sketch.

I once had an experience when I bought a cel that came with its matching background, but no sketch. I thought the seller had forgotten to give it to me (since this series usually comes with sketches if there is a background). But, when I checked the auction page, it didn''t say that it came with the douga. At the same time, I had assumed that it did. Cels just tend to have them, so people assume that they do--that doesn''t make it right, but it''s a fact of life. It''s wrong of this person to harrass you.

Personally, I would have answered the email with a statement about how you got the sketch after selling the cel, but if they would like to buy it from you, you would be more than happy to sell it to them.

Btw, later, I found out that the seller had kept my douga. She had sold a lot of cels and kept the douga/copy layouts that go with them. I know, because I ended up buying them all off her, and I recognized some as going to the cels I had seen her selling earlier. So, it''s not unheard of for sellers to get extra money while not giving up all of their artwork this way.
