Well, I give up
last modified: Sunday, November 12, 2006 (2:51:42 PM)
I was so happy when I traded in my satellite dish for cable. I no longer have outages during rain or problems with overnight updating of the box software. However. I wish I had known how much of a difference DVR on cable and DVR on the dish were. On the dish, I could set up a Dish Pass and schedule to record all instances of any show I selected. With cable, I can only manually schedule the time. That shouldn't be a big problem, right?

Well.

Cartoon Network changed the scheduling of Trinity Blood a couple of weeks ago. So I accidentally recorded Eureka 7 instead. If I had the Dish Pass, that wouldn't have been a problem. And now I've noticed that if I don't delete what I've recorded before the next scheduled recording, it won't freaking record it! Since I didn't watch my recording of Bleach or Trinity Blood last week, last night's episodes were not recorded.

Grrrrrr.

I'm thankful I've already seen them. But I still wanted to hear the dubbed versions. I'm seriously thinking about ditching my DVR service with cable and ordering Tivo. At least then I shouldn't have this problem anymore.

Grumble grumble.

Daylight savings time somehow screwed with our tivo like thingy. <.< Yeah, that''s what my husband is for: figuring out how to tape Bleach. XD j/k

Well, crapola. I hope you get it all worked out before NEXT week''s episodes! O_O
*another hug for good measure*

Ah, well that sucks. ;_; Have you tried searching for the episodes on Youtube? Since they''re pretty recent, they might not have been zapped yet . . .

Though, I watched a part of Bleach on Saturday (it was the Don Kan''onji episode) and about died when I heard Urahara''s voice. The rest of them at least stayed in character . . . the English Urahara is bitingly sarcastic instead of jokingly sarcastic and mysterious. ;_; Maybe I''m just being picky because he''s my favorite character. Though, watching that episode and an AMV recently made me want to dig out my old fansubs and watch some Good Bleach. ^_^

Well, I give up too but for another reason. ~_^ I guess I''m lucky since right now I''m not watching anything that I have to record. The only show I watch religiously is Battlestar Galactica. It replays all weekend long so I usually can catch one of the airings. ^_^

I did catch Bleach this past Saturday. I really liked Urahara''s English voice. I think it might be better than the Japanese voice. ~_^ (3rd fave chara)

Rather Silent e-mailed me and told me how to fix my DVR problem. So hopefully I won''t need to scream for Tivo just yet. If nothing else, it will still record episodes even if I don''t immediately watch what I have. But I still won''t recommend DVR for cable users as it is anything but user friendly.

I know how it feels when something you want to watch doesnt get recorded. But i get over it. I have Cable, sure its a pain sometimes but i love it anyway(mostly cause Ondemand content)

I do not have a DVR, i have been thinking about it...But anyways i still use one device that hasnt let me down. A 3 leter word known as VCR. I know ancient technology. But its cheaper then an extra $5 a month. And i get to keep what i record without losing memory. hehe
