Proof of my insanity... last modified: Sunday, July 22, 2007 (7:52:02 AM) I just paid a crazy price for a TONDE BUURIN CEL! My wish list has included my desire to find a cel of the 3 little pigs that show up and make jokes during Tonde Buurin. It has been there a long time and is one of the few things I have listed as "will give a kidney". It is also the only one for which I have a picture included.
Well, I guess my kidney is worth about 8250 yen, because I won the perfect cel this morning! http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n57666082 I have NEVER paid so much for a TB cel. ($5-10 is more likely even for the eyecatch). Even so, I am thrilled! If anyone can read the pig's bellies, please let me know what they say. I have a future massive TB update coming at the end of the summer as I have about 20 some cels coming including many with backgrounds. ( More proof of my insanity!)

Yep, it says Chiyao. I believe that''s a girl''s name. Heh, I know what you mean about prices, though. That''s how DDD is for me. I pick them up with the original backgrounds for about $10-15 each, and so I end up buying sooo many . . . ^_^; Anyway, congrats on your win! I can''t wait to see what else you have in store.
Chi(y)ao in katakana is, I suspect, "CHEER!" My Langenscheidt''s says that "chiarida" (same first two katakana characters) = "cheerleader" That would certainly make sense given the image. Does this mean that when I get my move completed, nice Tonde Buurin cels will now be going for 8000 yen plus? (And CCS, as usual, for 10x that?) Maybe then it will be time to sell a bunch ... I keep finding the dang things everywhere in my office ... just when I think I''ve bagged and booked them all ... here''s 15 MORE in the back of the closet! Anyhow, congrats on getting the piggie shot. I know you love your UFO TB piggie dolls, and now you''ve got them for real!

Thanks everyone for your comments and the info on the little piggies. I won all but one of my TB auctions yesterday and you will be happy to know Sensei, that they all were under 1000 yen. I added up their totals and divided by 7 and it came out to 1807 yen each, and since my auction fees for all but one is $1, I am spending less than $20 on each cel. Since most of these will be some of the best set-ups from the series I will have, I think the total price is worth it! Now off to demolish the rest of the 1970''s paneling in the upstairs bedrooms.......
I saw that on YJ the other day as well as many other super nice cels from that series. Congrats on your win! I thought it was such a cute cel and am happy to see a fellow RSer snagged it. :D
Forgot to mention I know exactly what you mean by insanity, lol. I glomp on just about any Mahoujin Guru Guru cel I come across, especially ones with original backgrounds. <3
Insanity? I know a thing or two about that. ~_^ That is an incredibly cute cel! And it comes with the background!!! Double bonus! ^___^ It''s just such a cute cel, that I could see that one hanging up to be smiled at every day. ^_^ |
