When you get the courage... and a threat last modified: Friday, April 13, 2007 (4:57:06 PM) Strange week this has been (that sounded like Yoda, lol)
It started on Monday with a phone threat, a woman was telling me they wanted come and beat the crap out of me, then on Tuesday there was another phone call and then on Wednesday they called and hung up all day long. Isn't it funny how when you do nothing everything happens to you?
*sigh*
And then as a bad punchline, today I had a meeting with the President for LA of my company. There are labor problems at my office (that concern the four people that work here) and I had discussed them with my ex boss and my current boss - who have/had the charge of Regional Manager - and since they did nothing about it, I just said I had to go and play with the big dogs....
Today around 11 am had the chance to meet my boss boss... the meeting started well, there were things he didn't know and everything was fine until we reached the taxes part of the conversation, and that's when all hell broke loose. This guy looks like Larry from 'Curb your Enthusiasm' and is about 6'1", really tall!
So how do you make a guy from the US that the labor laws in my country are different to his and that if I was signed here in my country, the laws of my country are valid?
From then on the conversation went downhill but in a bad mood, both from my boss (who was there and not too happy that I had brought this subject to his boss without his consent) and his boss. At some point my boss was trying to make it look like I was trying to take advantage of the situation when in fact no! After like 30 minutes of conversation - and at some point the President got somehow bored as he stared looking everywhere and not paying attention to me, I thought the meeting was over. Stood up, thanked him for his time and went back to my office... minutes later they left cos he had to take a flight and didnt even say bye to me.
I was a nervous wreck and I was so pissed off that had tears coming from my eyes, I was furious! fortunately I was alone here, I called my dad and told him about it which was very good as I managed to calm down. Obviously I was not going to give my boss the satisfaction to see me down, so I went to the bathroom, washed my face and put some make up so he wouldn't notice that I had cried. And it seems it worked, but I can also tell that he's not happy that I had brought the conversation to his boss. Well Im sorry but I don't give a damn filthy stinking rat ass....
Today's my brother's bday, and that's the only good thing about this day... because this has been a damned Friday the 13th....
