Images won't upload - receives error message

I have a .jpg of a cel that absolutely will not upload no matter what I do. I've tried re-naming the .jpg, I've tried changing its dimensions. It's well under the 1 MB limit. Everytime I try to upload it I get the following error message:

Can anyone tell me what that means and what I can do to work around it?

I can't upload images either. An x appears and the images won't load, there's a message that says "Max file size is 1 MB. A thumbnail will be generated for you if you do not upload one"

I was really hoping I could get an admin to chime in on this... is everyone stumped?

Not an admin, but I did figure out my problem was trying to post images using a Mac. PCs using IE works best.

Perhaps so. I started my July update today and had no problems, and I'm PC/IE.
